Wireless Home Alarm Systems - Reviews & Installation Guide
Wireless home alarm
systems are now getting more popular compared to the hard-wired security system.
This is because of the flexibility and easy installation of such security
device. Since there are no wires and cables needed, walls and ceiling do not
need to be drilled and tampered during the set up process. With this kind of
convenience, anybody can install the security system without the need of hiring
a professional. Here is a quick and systematic guide for those who want to
install their own security alarm.
Installation Guide for Wireless Home Alarm Systems
1. Find a secure place for the main console of your wireless home alarm systems.
The device should be in a secure place that is not easily accessible to
intruders. It is the one used for activating and deactivating the security
alarms. In some systems, it is also the device informing authorities about an
intrusion. Therefore, it should only be accessible to the owner of the house.
2. For the control panel, you should place it near the main door or the entrance
you frequently use. You may need to screw the control panel to the wall for a
quick access after or before entering the monitored area. The control panel is
where you input the security code in order to deactivate false alarms or
activate the alarms.
3. The alarm siren should also be placed in an area not easily accessible to an
intruder but allows it to be heard clear inside the house or neighboring area.
The alarm siren is the signal device to warn the owner about a possible
intrusion. If an intruder can quickly destroy the alarm siren, then crime could
happen undetected and defeat the purpose of having wireless home alarm systems.
4. Place the sensors in all the windows and outside doors of your home. One part
of the sensor is the magnet and the other one is the transmitter. As long as
both of these parts are connected together, the system will read everything as
secure. Each part comes with strips of adhesive for easy installation on windows
and doors.
5. Now that you are done with the sensors, it is time to think of the security
number to use. Do not use easy to guess numbers like 12345. Instead, use a
combination of numbers that only you can guess and remember. After that, program
the pass code into your control panel.
6. It is always good to test if all the sensors are working properly. Try
opening the doors and windows with installed sensors while the alarm is
activated and see if they work fine.
In wireless home alarm systems, determine the effective range of the main
console. You can find this information in the box or the manual that comes with
the security system. See to it that the main console can communicate with the
other devices and is not out of range. An out of range sensor will leave a hole
in your security.
